Job Description


Overview

Front End Engineers at Bilue are responsible for combining the art of design with the art of programming to produce innovative and high quality products.

  • We develop clean quality code that matches our clients vision.
  • We iterate constantly to get the best possible outcome for all parties.
  • We deploy products that add real value and which we are proud of.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with designers, developers, product managers and clients in an agile environment
  • Translate the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application.
  • Work with the design team in order to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works
  • Develop new user-facing featuresBuild reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimise application for maximum performance and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end

Skills:

  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS etc
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Familiarity with Unit Testing
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Familiarity working with Agile Framework principles (Relative Estimation, Task breakdown, Sprint cadences)
